Clinical Research
The 21st century will be the age of bidirectional translational medicine: in other words, researchers and physicians will be expected to move research findings expeditiously from the bench to the bedside and vice versa. They will also be increasingly challenged to align the personnel, support services, and resources that enable laboratory study. The Department of Clinical Research (DCR) facilitates all research involving patients, which is always for their benefit.
The studies under way at the CMUH address every field of health care, from stroke care, atherosclerosis, and diabetes, to cancer, metabolic disease, and psychiatric disease, to name but a few.
The DCR seeks to provide the full range of support for research scientists, postdoctoral fellows, and research nurses, including statistics/bio-informatics support, computer expertise, and the necessary laboratory space for studies in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Additional shared resources will be created.
