CMUH is well staffed and well equipped for conducting clinical trials and other forms of clinical study, as well as translational research. It boasts of a highly efficient institutional review board that meets weekly to speed up the heavy demand for reviewing clinical trials and clinical research protocols involving human subjects or materials.
CMUH has developed a rigorous clinical protocol review system as well as data management and monitoring/auditing mechanisms under the supervision of the Clinical Trial Center of Excellence Clinical Protocol Scientific Review & Monitoring Committee and an advisory committee consisting of 15 world-renowned experts in stroke and neurological diseases.
All phases of clinical trials follow the guidelines of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP). CMUH investigators also have extensive experience in pharmacokinetics, including those involving extracted ingredients and synthetic derivatives from traditional Chinese medicine for clinical trials.
