- Dosage Forms: 30mg / 60mg
- Edoxaban Tablet Description:
- 30 mg: pink, round-shaped and debossed with "DSC L30" on one side.
- 60 mg: yellow, round-shaped and debossed with "DSC L60" on one side.
- Mechanism of action: direct oral anticoagulant, prevent blood clot formation.
Dosage and Administration
- The usual dose is half to one tablet taken orally once daily. It may be taken with or without food. Please take the prescribed dose at the same time each day as directed by your physician.
- The duration of treatment should be adjusted based on individual clinical conditions. In general, anticoagulant therapy should be continued until you are no longer at risk for thromboembolic events.
What to do if you miss a dose: (Do not double the dose to make up for a missed one.)
- If you remember within 12 hours of your scheduled time, take the missed dose immediately and then take your usual dose at the regularly scheduled time. If it has been more than 12 hours, skip the missed dose and take the next dose at your regular scheduled time.
Storage
- Store in a well-closed, airtight container at room temperature (15–30°C). Keep in a dry place, protected from direct light and moisture.
Possible Adverse Reactions
If you experience any of the following unusual bleeding or symptoms, please inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately:
- Anemia, persistent bleeding from wounds lasting more than 15 to 30 minutes, increased menstrual or vaginal bleeding, nosebleeds, bleeding gums when brushing teeth, blood in urine or stools (including black, tarry stools), easy bruising or purpura, or allergic reactions
Special Medication Instructions
- Lixiana must be taken at the prescribed dose and at the same time each day.
- Do not alter the dosage or stop taking Lixiana unless directed by your physician.
- Please inform all healthcare providers, including your doctors, pharmacists, and dentists, that you are taking Lixiana.
- If you are scheduled to undergo surgery, tooth extraction, or invasive procedures in the near future, please consult your physician to determine whether you need to temporarily stop Lixiana.
- Severe liver or kidney impairment may affect the effectiveness of Lixiana.
- Please inform your physician proactively if you have such conditions.
- If you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, please inform your physician before using Lixiana.
- Be cautious of bleeding when engaging in activities that may cause injury.
- Do not take any medications, dietary supplements, or herbal products on your own—especially anti-inflammatory drugs and painkillers, aspirin, platelet aggregation inhibitors, other antithrombotic agents, or St. John's Wort. Please inform your physician if you need to use any of these.
