China Medical University Hospital (CMUH) recently welcomed a delegation of government officials and healthcare representatives from Slovakia for an institutional visit aimed at strengthening international cooperation in smart healthcare, critical-care innovation, and next-generation biomedical technologies. The visit was coordinated by the Healthcare Systems Consortium, further reinforcing Taiwan’s role in fostering global medical exchange.

The delegation was formally received by CMUH Superintendent Dr. Der-Yang Cho, who provided an overview of the CMUH healthcare network, including its clinical infrastructure, academic strengths, and ongoing transformation into a fully digital, patient-centered medical system. Dr. Cho highlighted the hospital’s system-wide advancements across specialty care, digital infrastructure, and translational medicine.

CMUH Chief Secretary Dr. Wei-Cheng Chen delivered a strategic briefing on CMUH’s smart healthcare framework, detailing AI-integrated systems, enterprise-level data platforms, automated safety management, and value-based outcome optimization. The presentation showcased how CMUH has modernized clinical workflows, accelerated decision-making processes, and optimized hospital operations through digital transformation.

During the visit, the delegation was introduced to CMUH’s AI-driven medical innovations, including real-time decision-support platforms and intelligent care applications. The hospital’s proprietary generative-AI healthcare robot, EirBOT, was demonstrated onsite and presented as a frontline solution for patient guidance, service support, and operational task automation—reflecting CMUH’s vision of human-centered AI deployment within care environments.

The group also visited CMUH’s Hi-things Tele-ICU Command Center, where digital- and AI-assisted critical-care mechanisms were showcased. The system integrates continuous remote monitoring, AI-enabled early-warning alerts, and multidisciplinary response protocols to shorten intervention times and strengthen quality-of-care delivery in high-acuity settings.

The visit concluded with presentations from CMUH-affiliated spin-off enterprises, featuring advancements in cell- and exosome-based therapeutic innovation. Ever Supreme Biotechnology presented clinical development milestones related to its CAR001 solid-tumor CAR-T therapy, while Shine-on Biomedical and ShineOut BioTech highlighted next-generation exosome technologies, including precision delivery systems, immune-modulating applications, and early translational results targeting neurological disorders.
