- Avoid alcohol and irritating foods such as spicy foods, fried foods, and peanuts.
- Increase intake of high-fiber foods, including:
- Vegetables: leafy greens, broccoli
- Fruits: bananas, papaya, kiwi
- Whole grains: oats, brown rice
2. Bowel Habits
- Develop a habit of regular bowel movements each day and keep the time spent on the toilet short.
- Avoid constipation or diarrhea whenever possible.
- Do not strain during bowel movements.
- Go to the toilet only when you feel the urge to defecate.
- Do not stay on the toilet for more than 5 minutes.
- Avoid using a mobile phone while on the toilet.
3. Lifestyle
- Maintain a regular daily routine and avoid staying up late.
- Avoid maintaining the same posture for a long time.
- Engage in light exercise to promote blood circulation.
- If your work requires prolonged sitting, stand up and walk for 3–4 minutes every hour.
4. Anal Hygiene and Sitz Bath
- After bowel movements, gently clean the anal area with warm water.
- Avoid excessive wiping.
- Warm sitz baths are recommended:
- Water temperature: approximately 40°C
- Duration: 5–10 minutes
- Frequency: morning, evening, and after bowel movements
Warm sitz baths help relax the anal sphincter, improve blood circulation, and reduce pain and swelling.
5. Medication Use
- Frequent use of enemas or laxatives may lead to dependency.
- Avoid purchasing or using these medications without medical advice.
6. When to Seek Medical Attention
- Please seek medical attention if any of the following occur:
- Heavy bleeding during bowel movements
- Severe pain
- Enlarging anal lump or swelling
- Symptoms that do not improve after 1–2 weeks
