Our neurosurgery division started on Aug, 1st, 1995 and became neurosurgery department on Jul, 1st , 1996. The chief of neurosurgery department was professor Der-Yang Cho. He is devoted to developement of neurosurgery department and become the President of China Medical University Hospital. Now, we have five divisions, Cerebrovascular Division, Neurooncology Division, Spine Division, Pediatric Neurosurgery Division, and Gamma Knife Surgery Division. We perform about 4000 operations per year and secure the healthy of the patients who lived in whole middle part of Taiwan. We also set up comprehensive medical centers, stroke center, trauma center, pain center, cancer center, and neuroscience enter. We are devoted to laboratory research in recent years and have many literatures in famous international journals. Immunotherapy for glioblastoma multiforme improves the 2 year survival rate to 87%. Our hospital entered into a strategic alliance with U.S.A., M.D. Anderson cancer center to become sister hospitals.
