Doctor Ming Ho specializes in Maternal–fetal medicine, especially high risk pregnancy, uterus internal treatment. High risk pregnancy refers to the potential risks for the mother and new-born during pregnancy period. This could result in fetus abnormality and even death, or affect the health of the mother and may even become life-threatening. High risk pregnancy occurrence rate is 10%. Uterus internal treatment refers to treatment of Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome, amniotoc band syndrome, Cleft lip and cleft palate, Thoracic diaphragm hernia, congenital respiratory obstruction diseases through fetoscopy. Doctor Ho also specializes in high tier ultrasound, diagnosis through 3D echocardiography.
Doctor Hui Yi Chang is one of the few doctors that deemed qualified in measuring Nuchal Translucency by the Fetal Medicine Foundation. “Ultrasound” is currently safest, most sophisticated fetus examination tool. Soon-to-be mothers are always concerned with the fetus’ well-being, e.g.: Down syndrome examination through maternal serum screening, fetus Nuchal Translucency etc., especially when used in the 1st stage, (fetus Nuchal Translucency). It allows for earlier diagnosis of down syndrome fetus.
The gradual apparent trend of Sub-replacement fertility, the expectations of parents for the next generation has become much higher than before. Thus in face of the different chromosome and gene diseases, appropriate examinations and careful consultations are necessary for pinpointing accurate treatment plans and provide parents with sufficient information.
