China Medical University is an important pioneer in the development of TCM in the world. In 1980, the Department of Chinese Medicine has set up at the same time with the China Medical University Hospital including TCM general medicine, TCM gynecology, TCM pediatrics, Acupuncture , Chinese traumatology, and Chinese Pharmacology under the pharmacy department. In order to strengthen the communication and cooperation between the Chinese medicine and Western medicine, the “Cooperation Center of Chinese and Western Medicine” (the predecessor of Integrated Traditional and Western Department) has set up in April, 1987.
With the development of Chinese Medicine modernization, our department have created the Diagnostic sector of Chinese medicine, which aims to combine traditional diagnostic methods with scientific instruments to enrich the clinical and research abilities in order to communicate with the international academic trends.Since then, our Department of Chinese Medicine became the academic and clinic center of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with the most complete and diversified medical services.
